Gender: M

Robert Marsham, 2nd Baron Romney (1712-1793) lived at Maidstone in Kent. He was a patron of science and philanthropist. Romney disliked the luxury and formality of court life and 'Great Men's Tables' and became a founding member of the Society of Arts, Manufactures, and Commerce (act. 1753–1783). He married Priscilla Pym (1724–1771), only child of Charles Pym of St Kitts in the West Indies, on 29 July 1742, and she seems to have accompanied Miss Anstey and EM on annual visits to Tunbridge Wells.
