Education is core to EMCO’s charitable mission, outlined here [link to the Charity info page]. The Edition, Inventory and other resources made available through EMCO will provide a huge benefit to scholars and students alike. Alongside this material, EMCO is dedicated to broader education activities and support for researchers. We will update these pages...
Current Projects
Our research assistant at Brookes, Dr Anna Senkiw, has been awarded a Research Excellence Award 2020 for Postdoctoral Researchers & Research Technicians by Oxford Brookes University in order to lead a small project with an undergraduate student. During their placement, it is expected that the student will work with a selection of Montagu’s letters, helping to produce a set of transcribed, edited and tagged material for the edition, as well as contributing to EMCO’s social media output. They will gain skills in editing, digital tagging and communications, as well as learn more about Elizabeth Montagu, the Bluestockings and eighteenth-century women’s writing.
Financial Support
Funded bursaries for six PhD student /ECRs have been awarded to speakers at EMCO’s conference ‘PROSPECT OF IMPROVEMENT’ to be held at Hagley Hall in September 2021.
Please note that all dates and location information are provisional, initially taken from the library and archive catalogues. As our section editors continue to work through the material we will update our database and the changes will be reflected across the edition.
